Chenjiazhuang Village has a long history, with simple folk customs and outstanding people. It is the hometown of Cui Douchen, one of the "three ministers" in southern Shanxi. Before the founding of new China, it was the political, economic and cultural center of the Jiwang Mountain revolutionary base. From July 1943 to January 1948, it was the permanent place of the third district committee and district government of Jilu district of the communist party of China, the county committee and county government of Jilu County of the communist party of China, the third district committee and special office of Taiyue, and the third district headquarters of Taiyue military region. During this period, a large number of Chinese elites gathered here, such as Jia Kangjie, Jin Changgeng, Chai Zemin, Wang Yong, Yue Weifan, Wang Lizhong, Zhao Yixuan, Zhang Xiwen, Yan Jiade, Yang Zuojie, Fan Mayi, Wang Jianwu and so on. A large number of party, government and military leading cadres have lived here. To open up the Jiwang Mountain revolutionary base, they organized the masses to struggle with the enemies, with mastermind and effort, risking their lives, to make a great contribution. Political department, publicity team, training unit, medical team, judicial division, post office, broadcasting station, Jinan Bank office, printing plant, trading company, Jinnan newspaper office, military depot, military equipment committee, commissariat, supply department, grain supply center, military uniform factory, radiotelegraphy office, repair station, public security bureau, prison and other organs of more than 30 units were throughout the village, playing a great role in the liberation of south Shanxi.
